Salvator Mundi after Da Vinci

Salvator Mundi (Saviour of the World) copy after Leonardo Da Vinci.
Oil on Canvas 24 x 18”
I have so enjoyed painting this picture and I have also learned a huge amount.
I always thought Da Vinci was a very talented man but now I have copied his painting and studied him throughout the project I have become acquainted with the genius.
His methods are unique and skin tones are incredible.
The Da Vinci painting of Salvator Mundi was sold at auction in 2017 through Christies for £450 million, the most expensive painting ever sold.
I wasn’t keen on the conservation of the painting ( sorry Dianne) but preferred the cleaned original version so decided to have a go at copying it.

Also having entered artworks to the Sketch for Survival Competition run by the Explorers Against Extinction conservation charity I have been selected for the longlist in 2024, previously chosen as a finalist in 2022 and highly commended in 2021.

I am based in Kent and create unique pieces of art, undertaking commissions which include pet portraits.

My work is also included in private collections.
